RESCUE FORCE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Rescue Force mobile application and related services (the “Service”), operated by Rescue Force, a nonprofit organization (“Rescue Force,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Description of Service
Rescue Force provides a community-based platform designed to facilitate animal rescue coordination, volunteer engagement, and informational services.
Rescue Force does not provide veterinary care, law enforcement services, or guaranteed emergency response.
The Service is provided “as is” and for informational and coordination purposes only.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
If you are under 18, you represent that you have parental or guardian permission.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for:

Maintaining the confidentiality of your account

Keeping your login credentials secure

All activity under your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Volunteer and User Interaction Disclaimer
The Service may connect you with volunteers or other users.
Rescue Force:

Does not conduct background checks unless explicitly stated

Does not guarantee the identity, qualifications, or conduct of any user

Is not responsible for interactions between users
You assume full responsibility when interacting with other users.
You agree to exercise independent judgment and appropriate caution.
5. SMS Messaging Terms
If you provide your mobile phone number and opt in, you consent to receive SMS messages from Rescue Force through the Rescue Alert mobile app related to:

Rescue coordination

Volunteer notifications
-
Emergency updates
-
Support communications
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on activity and engagement.
Fees
Message and data rates may apply.
Opt-Out
Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time.
Reply HELP for assistance or contact info@rescueforce.org.
You can also opt out of SMS messages by toggling SMS Messaging off in the app’s settings.
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Rescue Force does not send marketing or fundraising SMS messages without separate express consent.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:

Misuse the Service

Submit false rescue reports

Harass or threaten other users

Attempt to reverse engineer the app

Use the Service for unlawful purposes
We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
7. Intellectual Property
The App and all associated intellectual property rights remain the property of Rescue Force.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.
8. Internet and Device Responsibility
The Service requires an active internet connection.
You are responsible for:

Mobile data charges

Roaming charges
-
Maintaining device security
-
Keeping your device updated and charged
Rescue Force is not responsible for service interruptions caused by connectivity issues.
Certain features of the Service, including real-time location sharing and map functionality, may consume significant mobile data.
9. Third-Party Services.
The Service integrates with third-party services including mapping, messaging, push notification, and SMS providers. Your use of these features may be subject to those providers’ terms of service. Rescue Force is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party services.
10. User Content.
You retain ownership of content you submit (photos, descriptions, rescue reports). By submitting content, you grant Rescue Force a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute such content in connection with operating and improving the Service. You represent that you have the right to submit any content you provide.
11. Location Data.
Certain features require access to your device’s location. You may enable or disable location sharing at any time through the app’s settings. Location data is used solely for rescue coordination and is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
12. Dispute Resolution.
Before filing any legal claim, you agree to contact Rescue Force at info@rescueforce.org and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
13. No Warranties
The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis.
We do not warrant that:

The Service will be uninterrupted

The Service will be error-free

Rescue outcomes will be successful
-
Volunteers will respond
Use of the Service is at your own risk.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rescue Force shall not be liable for:

Indirect or consequential damages

Loss resulting from reliance on app content

User interactions
-
Volunteer actions or inactions
-
Delayed or failed rescue responses
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rescue Force from claims arising out of:

Your misuse of the Service

Your violation of these Terms

Your interactions with other users
16. Modifications to the Service
We may:

Modify features
-
Add or remove functionality
-
Suspend or discontinue the Service
We are not obligated to maintain compatibility with all device versions.
17. Account Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access without notice if you violate these Terms.
Upon termination:

Your license to use the app ends

You must discontinue use

Your use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy available at:

19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
Changes become effective when posted with an updated effective date.
Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of revised Terms.
20. Governing Law
Any legal action shall be brought in the courts located in Multnomah County, Oregon, United States.
